The mint specializes in the minting of highly-stylized precious metal coins in gold, silver, copper. The mint also produces silver bars ranging from 1oz to 1kg in weight. Golden State Mint was founded in 1974 by Jim Pavlakos. Later Jim’s son, Andrew Pavlakos, also joined the mint as an owner.

Golden State Mint’s Claim to Fame

Golden State Mint is unique among sovereign mints in that it offers a custom minting program to the public. Custom minted bullion can be created for special events, corporate giveaways, or just for personal enjoyment. Sizes range from 1/10, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 5 and 10 oz, and custom packaging can be created for presentation purposes. While the design expense can range from $500 towards $2,000, the ability to design your own coins is a tempting proposition.
