The 2009 Ultra-High Relief was a reprise of the extremely rare, double-thick, small diameter pattern coin proposed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907. The finish on the modern version have more of a satiny appearance and because of the increased depth of the design have a medallic appearance quite unlike that of a normal coin.

The obverse design follows Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ design of the Double Eagle (1907-1933), a full-length figure of Lady Liberty striding forward, with flowing hair, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left, with the Capitol building in the left bottom background.

The reverse features a eagle in flight facing left . The inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is on the top edge, with TWENTY DOLLARS just under. On the bottom is a sun with 14 rays extending up over the coin the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed just above the sun

Coin Value: The metal content is 24 Karet and the value is based on metal content.  Proof Coins may carry a numismatic premium if slabbed. It may be difficult to get a specific series coin because of melting.
