There are four Types for this coin. The Type 1, Wire Edge (1907), obverse features a left-facing bust of Liberty wearing an Indian war bonnet, 13 stars surround the design with the date at the bottom. The Reverse is a bald eagle standing on a sheaf of arrows encircled by an olive branch. The inscriptions E PLURIBUS UNUM is to the right of the head, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is on the top edge with TEN DOLLARS on the bottom that has dots before and after the words.

Type 2, Rolled Edge (1907) only changed the edge of the top edge of the coin for sharper pressing.

Type 3, No Motto (1907-1908) Teddy Roosevelt personally objected to a deities name on money and asked there not to be a motto.

Type 4, With Motto (1908-1933) The no motto coins caused outrage from the public and the motto was restored by the Coin Act of 1908. The motto was added to the left of the eagle chest.

Coin Values:  Types 1-3 of these coins are rare and highly sought after. Values for these coins have a wide range with a 1907 MS65 Gold $10 Indian Head (Type1) selling for $74,500, a 1907 AU55 Gold $10 Indian Head (Type2) selling for $67,500, a 1908 MS64 Gold $10 Indian Head (Type3) selling for $12.650, and a 1932 MS66 Gold $10 Indian Head (Type4) $6500.
