The quarter depicts a head of Washington facing left, with “Liberty” above the head, the date below, and “In God We Trust” in the left field and mint mark to the right.
On the reverse, an eagle with wings outspread perches on a bundle of arrows framed below by two olive branches.
There are 4 Types of the coin: Type 1, Silver (1932-1964, Proof 1992-present), Type 4, Silver, Bi-Centennial Reverse (1996), Type 2 and Type 3 are clad.
Coin Values: Quarters can be found all grades easily. A slabbed 1939-S Type 1 MS65 Silver Washington Quarter sold for $275, a 1999-S Type 1 MS69DCAM Silver New Jersey State Quarter sold for $18 and a 2018-S Type 1 MS69DCAM Silver Cumberland Island Quarter sold for $13.
