Prospector’s Gold & Gems is a full-service refiner and buyer of gold and silver bullion. The private mint, also commonly referred to as PG&G, was founded in 1999.

The Fort Collins, CO-based company refines silver and gold it purchases from a variety of sources including jewelers, pawn shops, mining companies, and coin shops.  It also provides fee-based refining of gold and silver upon request.

The private mint recycles gold and silver to produce an assortment of bullion products. It produces hand-poured silver bars ranging from 1 ounce to 100 ounces, and hand-poured gold bars from 1 ounce to 5 ounces. It also mints silver and gold rounds. On occasion the mint also sells gold nuggets in their natural form.

The mint also gets high marks for having a knowledgeable staff and friendly customer service. Prospector’s Gold & Gems Claim to Fame

The private mint occasionally sells gold nuggets in their raw form, giving investor’s a rare opportunity to own collectible and interesting investment. Gold nuggets are not considered bullion, but can be melted down to become bullion. The company has a limited inventory and often sells out. The sale of gold nuggets lines up nicely with the company’s prospector motif, versions of which often appear on its rounds and bars.
