What is an Austrian 100 Corona?
Austria 100 Corona coins are 21.6 karat gold coins that were first minted in Austria in 1908 during the Austro-Hungarian Empire. These coins were minted from 1908-1914 and could be traded for 100 Corona. From 1915 to 1975, these coins kept the 1915 mint date on their design in order to bypass gold ownership laws. After the private gold ban was lifted in the United States in 1974, 100 Corona coins became very popular in the United States.
