What is the difference between bullion and coins?

Bullion is valued by its purity and weight, while coins are mostly valued by their rarity, history, and condition. Most bullion is 95% purity and above, and the price of a piece of bullion or a bullion coin is very close to the value of melting down the gold that the bullion is made of. When dealing with coins, there are many more factors that go into value besides just the material that the coin was made from.
