Are gold ETFs a good investment?

Gold ETFs function as a similar investment to physical gold without the hassle of physical gold. That being said, gold ETFs do not give you direct ownership of gold, only shares in the trust.  There is more risk associated with owning gold ETFs vs physical gold, thus physical gold is generally seen as a better investment.
