What was Hepburn v. Griswold?

The Hepburn v. Griswold case was a legal case in which the Supreme Court found certain parts of the Legal Tender Act, which allowed the US government to print money to fund the war effort, to be unconstitutional. The Supreme Court argued that the printing of paper money violated the spirit of the constitution. This sentiment was overruled in Knox vs. Lee, however, and the opinion of the Supreme Court changed in favor of the Legal Tender Act, officially ruling that the Act did not violate Article One of the Constitution.
