What is the largest gold nugget found in Australia?
The largest gold nugget found in Australia weighed over 200 lbs. It was discovered by an Airleg driller at the Beta Hunt gold mine near Kambalda, Australia in September of 2018. Over 70% of that nugget (143 lbs) was thought to be pure gold. The nugget was found as part of a ‘motherlode’ find of $10,400,000 worth of coarse gold.
