What is a reverse proof coin?
A Reverse Proof coin is like a Proof coin, but with a ‘reverse’ finish. A normal Proof coin has its lowered area, or ‘field’ which is polished, while the raised areas, ‘devices’ are given a matte finish. In a Reverse Proof, the ‘field’ has a matte finish while the ‘devices’ are polished.
