What are the three stages of annealing?
The three stages of annealing are:
1. Recovery – During a low-temperature heat treatment (200-300 C) during this process, the deformities and dislocations in the material rearrange themselves in a more coherent structure
2. Crystallization – The material is heated more (400-500 C) and the new coherent structure is crystallized, while remaining impurities are eliminated
3. Growth – During this phase, high heat (600+ C) is used to grow the newly crystalline structure so that they whole material has a coherent pattern throughout
