What is a Bag Mark?

A bag mark is a ding or dent that is caused during the manufacturing of the coin. Before stricter regulations were introduced in 1964, rough handling by mint workers occasionally caused coins to become damaged during the transportation process when coins inside bags started rubbing against each other.
