Proof coins are the highest quality coin that a mint creates. They are hand polished, finely polished, and encased in a protective capsule. All come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Proofs are generally in the same category as uncirculated when it comes to numismatic pricing, although proofs tend to have a higher mark-up.
