What is exonumia?
Exonumia, from the latin exo- (out) and nomisma (coin), refers to items that were items that were used as forms of exchange that were neither coins nor paper money. Exonima, (plural of exonumia), include things like game tokens, poker chips, wooden nickels, souvenirs, badges, etc. Exonima are generally less valuable as collectors’ items as compared to regular coins and dollars, however, there are a few exceptions.
