What was the Mint Master?
Mint Masters was historically the name given to someone who was the overseer in a mint or minting operation. The position of Mint Master was created during the Middle Ages in order to maintain the quality of the coins and oversee the distribution of said coins throughout the state, country, or empire. In modern times, the term Mint Master has fallen out of favor, but there are still positions such as Mint Director, Lord of Treasury, etc. that have similar functions.
