The private mint, launched in 2005, produces gold and silver investment bars, legal tender currency, and collectible pieces. For example most of its silver bullion is made from reclaimed silver used in manufacturing and photography.

The company also has an in-house licensing and numismatic division that produces a variety of collectibles. It also offers custom manufacturing and distribution of bullion products for third parties.

Scottsdale Mint’s Claim to Fame

As a relatively new entrant into the crowded arena of boutique mints, Scottsdale Mint has become known for a particularly ingenious coin and bar design it created. The Stacker Round and the Stacker Bar are designed so that they interlock when stacked on top of one another, similar to building blocks. The Stacker Bars are available in silver denominations of 10 ounces, 1 kilogram, and 100 ounces. The bars feature an interlocking beveled edge. The silver Stacker Round features a high-relief image of the mint’s lion logo and comes in 2 ounce, 100 gram, and 5 ounce weights. The three different weights can be stacked together. The design not only saves space but also makes these bullion products an interesting addition to any collection.
