What is Antimetallism?

a financial theory in which sovereignties have power over its own currency, and creates a specific market and demand for that currency by levying legally enforceable debts on its citizens which can only be paid in that currency.

Antimettalism, also known as Chartalism is a financial theory that argues monetary currency started with states attempt to manipulate economic activity instead of as a problem-solving solution to issues with the barter system, or as a way to tokenize debt. Antimettalism proposes that state-issued fiat currency has value because of the sovereign power to charge taxes on economic activity payable in the currency issued by the state, not because it is back by a commodity such as gold.
