What is Clad Coinage?

Issues of dimes, quarters, halves, and dollar coins from the United States starting in 1965. Each coin has a center core, a layer of copper-nickel, or silver on both sides. Differs from plated coins because cladded blanks are treated to seal the metal layers together.
