What is an Eagle? Defintion of an EagleUS minted coin from 1792 to 1933. The eagle had a nominal value of $10 USD. It was minted with various gold contents including: 91.6%, 89.9%, and 90%. They also come in several different designs that are described as “Turban Head”, “Liberty Head” and “Indian Head”, which was the last design in 1933.
